Gamma Amino Butyric Acid (GABA) is an amino and the major inhibitory neurotransmitter that blocks transmission of impulses from one neuron to another. Its action is similar to the brakes in an accelerating car, as it reduces excessive brain stimulation and promotes tranquility and calmness. This action of GABA prevents over-firing or over stimulation of neurons which are implicated in anxiety, manic disorder, epilepsy, and hypertension.
Many people are living a stressful life from the worries and demands of work, family, and other relationships. The different situations and problems that go along with everyday life overwhelm the brain and causes feelings of agitation and lack of tranquility. These people may need some quiet moment in a corner to put things into perspective and have some luxury of relaxation. Unfortunately, the rush of life doesn’t grant everybody their needed time free from these worries. Worse, some even acquire mental health problems. GABA helps a lot of these people as it delivers these GABA benefits.
GABA dosage varies depending on condition. The recommended dosage ranges from 250 mg to 500 mg three times a day. This is the usual dosage taken to relieve seizures and mild to moderate pain.
There are claims that there are no existing GABA side effects, but some users reported mild discomforts after using GABA supplements. Itching in the face and neck, too fast or too slow breathing patterns, and mild palpitations are the notable adverse effects from GABA use.
