  • Andrographis is found to be effective at modulating healthy immune defences, which can improve the symptoms of flu, respiratory infections, and sinus infections. Scientists found out that this herb helps the body in producing macrophages, large immune cells that scavenge harmful microorganisms, as well as antibodies, proteins that also neutralise pathogens and prevent the immune cells from attacking the body’s own cells to prevent autoimmune disorders.
  • Based on scientific evidences, Andrographis appear to protect cardiovascular health. It prevents the formation of blood clots and dissolves existing blood clots in the cardiovascular system before they can cause thrombosis, embolism, and aneurysm. It is also suggested that this herb works by relaxing the blood vessel walls to allow more blood for effective circulation. This mechanism reduces the risk for hypertension, Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), and heart attack.
  • Andrographolides in Andrographis offer reliable antioxidant protection to the cells against free radical damage. Antioxidants are stable oxygen species that lends oxygen molecules to unstable free radicals and prevent them from destroying the DNA, mitochondria, and other vital cellular structure. Antioxidant protection is useful in the prevention of degenerative diseases and in maintaining brain, heart, joint, and prostate health during old age.

Andrographis paniculata or simply Andrographis, also famous for its name as “King of Bitters” is a bitter tasting herb that grows typically in India and Sri Lanka. This annual herbaceous plant produces white to purple flowers with yellow brown seeds. The herbs leaves and roots have been used for centuries in Asia for a wide number of health purposes. Andrographis is a valued herb in both the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and India’s Ayurvedic Medicine for liver protection and prevention of the common colds. Recently, Andrographis have been used alone or in combination with other herbs for different medicinal uses.

The active ingredients of Andrographis paniculata are called andrographolides, which exhibit potent antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. It appears that this constituent provides immune support by stimulating healthy production of antibodies and macrophages. Macrophages are huge cells that scavenge viruses, bacteria, fungi, and other pathogens to prevent them from causing infections. Antibodies are blood proteins that aside from neutralising infectious microorganisms ensure that the immune cells don’t attack the body’s own cells to cause autoimmune disorders. Nature’s Way Andrographis is standardised to 10% of the bioactive andrographolides for reliable immune support.
